Five Strategies to Ease Your Separation Anxiety
Sadly, relationships are not about sunshine and rainbows all the time. They can be rocked by disturbing circumstances and challenges too, and separation is one of these disturbances.
This can be one of the most difficult and heart wrenching experiences that you are faced with in your relationship. If you find that you are in this situation, this relationship self help guide should be highly beneficial as far as assisting you in coping with this unfortunate event.
1. There are many reasons why you and your partner may become separated for one reason or another. One of you may have to travel with work, become involved in military activities, become incarcerated, or you may simply have to separate due to conflicts that are occurring in the relationship. While any of these events are painful, it is important to keep in mind that many of these events are considered to be short term and can be resolved within just a short time frame. This may assist you in coping with the events a bit better overall.
2. You are never truly alone. With long-term separation, you have family and friends to turn to for love, care and emotional support. Surround yourself with these people and you will never feel abandoned, forgotten and empty.
3. Troubleshooting a rocky relationship alone can be worthwhile. Study your role, the mistakes you made and the demands of your partner. Use the separation period to analyze relationship troubles and arrive at solutions. There are many ways you can spice up your relationship with some initiative. Seriously, you dont need relationship tutors 24/7.
4. Allow time to heal you. Time is an all-natural remedy that can soothe your hurts and loneliness. In fact, the period that you are separated with your partner is a good time to reminisce and appreciate the good memories you were able to make together.
5. Love yourself. Separation gains you a lot of me time which you can devote to self-improvement and recreation. Join clubs. Read books. Travel. Develop a new hobby. Make a choice to be happy.
If you follow these relationship self help strategies for coping with a separation, you will find that coping is an easier task that you imagined. Eventually, you may even discover yourself back together with the person that you love.
